Vintage Scandinavian Folk Art Pictorial Rug Scandi Textile Pop of Color Jewel Tones
Oh the vivid jewel tones in this Scandinavian flat weave folk art rug! The emerald green that frames the pictorial of horses draped in Nordic versions of flags in vibrant tangerines, cherry reds, pea green and burnished russet browns. Traditional elements of horses and stylized 4 petal florals add further flair. Measuring 52” x 33”x with 1/2” cotton fringe on the ends, it is an ideal size for layering over larger rugs, hanging as a tapestry for the look of textile art, or in a space such a fireside or along the front of a sofa.
Textile is in grey estate condition, there is a 3” section where warp threads have broken. This could be stabilized if using on the floor or left as is , if you choose to use as wall art. No smells. An overall cleaning would brighten the colors. I have not cleaned the rug. The fringe at each end has loss.
