Lovely, small ceramic, depicting, a sea bird with a long beak. The pretty bird has its beak tucked into the soil, as if searching for food. Pretty colors of a deep, dark brown with a dark violet around the top of its head, details of feathers, flowing back. It stands upon a grassy knoll. Pretty piece to add to a bookshelf, vignette, perhaps standing atop a stack of books.
3 1/2” long x 2.25” wide by 3.25 inches tall.
Nice condition, there are no chips and no cracks. There is crazing throughout the glaze. There are some imperfections that occurred in the hand painting of the bird with some uneven, painting and uneven glazing. There is a little bit of loss of paint around the edges of the feet that would be appropriate to handling and age.
